Syed Adney


Syed Adney Syed Hussein (born on November 29, 1986) is an English-born Malaysian footballer who is a goalkeeper for UPB-MyTeam FC. He is a member of the Malaysian national team and also has played for the Malaysian Pre-Olympic squad.

He has openly expressed his wish to play in the English football league, and had trials with Middlesbrough FC and Darlington FC.

Syed Adney made his Malaysia debut against Bahrain in 2010 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifier and conceding 4 goals in Malaysia 4-1 defeat to Bahrain in the first leg of the qualifier.

Syed Adney also famously saved a penalty against Singapore in the third game of the group stages in the 2007 SEA Games, where Malaysia needed a win to go through.

In 2008 AFF Suzuki Cup, Syed Adney took over Mohd Helmi Eliza Elias place to play the last group game which Malaysia lost 3-0 to Thailand.
